THE PROBLEM.

I believe it is wrong for manufacturers of medicines to put patients’ lives at risk for the sake of corporate gain. This comes at the expense of patients, who can be harmed by side effects and toxic reactions. In some cases, patients have died or face life-changing injuries because of a pharmaceutical drug.

As the pharmaceutical manufacturers see record profits, consumers have been injured. Drug recalls are no longer out of the ordinary. In recent years, reports on Vioxx, Bextra, Celebrex, Crestor, and Zocor have uncovered significant problems of consumer safety.
